Hairspray!

HAIRSPRAY delighted audiences by sweeping them away to 1960's Baltimore, where the 50's are out -- and change is in the air.  Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show." Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair?  With exciting roles for our male performers as well, including some tough New York teens, dance show hosts and performers, and Tracy’s mother, player by John Travolta in the recent film!  This exciting show has just been released for amateur performances after its Broadway triumph and the success of the recent film – we will be one of the first companies to perform it!

Stratford Shakespeare:

"The Winter’s Tale"

A very special 9-week workshop at PAMT ~ learn about Shakespeare’s life, times, and language, study and be cast in a role in one of Shakespeare’s most famous works, work with a member of the Stratford Company who will travel to Perth to do some workshops with us, then travel to Stratford on a four day, three night trip of a lifetime to act in the Stratford School Shakespeare Festival on the Festival Theatre stage!  Meet students from other school s across Ontario, participate in various workshops in Stratford, and be adjudicated positively (this is an exhibition, not a competition) by Stratford actors and directors.  Return to Perth with your passions and ideas kindled, and perform in our own version of “The Winter’s Tale” on the stage of the Myriad Centre!  A one-of-a-kind opportunity!  Don’t miss it!  Open to students ages 10 – 18.  Registration limited to 25 students.

A $100 (Hairspray) or $150 (Stratford) non-refundable deposit is due at registration.  Full balance of fees is due at the registration deadline date.  Please note that all fees are non-refundable after the registration deadline.  Payment may be made by mailing a cheque or money order, by phoning (613) 267-9610 with a VISA or Mastercard, or by coming into the Myriad Centre, and paying by Cash, Cheque, Debit or Credit Card, during our posted office hours.
