The most amazing experience you’ll ever have! This intensive workshop will focus on vocal and dance technique, taught by a team of professional voice and dance teachers from the community. Each participant will take part in both group and private lessons to help hone and refine their talents. Please note that this is a very focussed workshop, designed for those who intend to seriously pursue the performing arts as a career, or who wish to develop their skills at an advanced level. Participants will apply techniques learned to two solo songs, chosen for their appropriateness in range and style. The workshop culminates with a performance judged (constructively, and not harshly!) by local experts and celebrities. The winner of PAMT Idol will receive a special prize, aimed at furthering your singing career!

THE GONDOLIERS - GILVBERT & SULLIVAN

The Perth Academy Gilbert and Sullivan show is back by popular demand! This summer’s operatic offering is a merry romp through exotic Venice. Mistaken identities, hilarious comedy, swordplay, romance, a plethora of interesting characters, and a meaty Gilbert and Sullivan score make this a workshop not to be missed!

This fantastic workshop was such a success last year that we have to bring the idea back for a second season! Based upon the concept of the famous “Cirque du Soleil,” we will build upon participants’ talents in designing our own new series of unique acts including acrobatics, songs, spectacular dance choreography, accompanied by colourful costumes and circus props! Our final product will be performed on the main stage of Perth’s Stewart Park Festival!

Join your favourite Disney characters as we perform musical acts from your favourite Disney films, including Beauty and the Beast, Mary Poppins, Pocohontas, Tarzan, and The Little Mermaid, then put it all together with a grand medley finale of songs from a collection of Disney movies! This is your chance to be a Disney hero or princess onstage!

We at PAMT are very excited to bring our very first show, Annie, back to our stage ten years later! Based on the popular comic strip and films, Annie tells of a spunky Depression-era orphan determined to find her parents, who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage run by the cruel Miss Hannigan. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations, befriends President Franklin Roosevelt and finds a new family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary Grace Farrell and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
Its upbeat plot and flamboyant characters have made Annie one of the most beloved musicals in history. With such favourite tunes as “Tomorrow,” “Hard Knock Life” and “You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile,” this is a workshop not to be missed!

PAMT is pleased to present our summer Shakespearian drama workshop, focusing on Shakespearian acting techniques and culminating in the performance of one of the most powerful plays in history. They love each other – while their families, addicted to hatred, embrace a culture of endless violence. To be united with her Romeo, Juliet dares to face the terrors of the tomb – but not even the best of plans can change the inevitable course of disaster. Romance, laughter and tragedy add up to the greatest love story of all time.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS

Back from our very first summer at PAMT – ten years later! This show was a hit the first time, and we can’t wait to introduce a new generation cast to this zany, tongue-in-cheek, 1950s sci-fi spoof show. A down-and out skid row floral assistant becomes an overnight sensation when he discovers an exotic plant with a mysterious craving for fresh blood. Soon “Audrey II” grows into an ill-tempered, R&B-singing carnivore who offers him fame and fortune in exchange for feeding its growing appetite, finally revealing itself to be an alien creature poised for global domination! With incredible music, excellent characters (such as the sweet and innocent Audrey, the street-savvy Du-wop Girls, and the sadistic motorcycle-riding Dentist) this show will undoubtedly be the hit of the summer!

Based on the well-loved Disney film, PAMT will be one of the first theatre companies to present the stage version of this exciting tale! Based on a Chinese folk-tale, Mulan tries hard to please her parents. Her father is drafted into the army. Mulan disguises herself as a man and takes her father's place in battle, guided by a guardian dragon, Mushu. Including all the best-loved songs from the film, such as "Reflection," "Honor to Us All," and "I'll Make a Man," this new show is not to be missed!

Can’t get enough of the Academy? Come and join us for a one-week fun and games workshop, focusing on improvisation! Learn the secrets of Second City and of “Whose Line is it, Anyway?” as we explore various techniques, preparing for a final performance al la Drew Carey and Wayne Brady. This is an excellent opportunity for senior students to spend another week together, forging friendship bonds to last a lifetime. All new participants are also welcome!

2 week workshop (Gondoliers, Annie, Little Shop):
$375 + GST = $393.75
1 week workshop (PAMT Idol, Cirque, Disney, Romeo, Mulan, Improv):
$260 + GST = $273.00
New Payment Policy:
A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at registration. Full balance of fees is due at the registration deadline date. Please note that all fees are non-refundable after the registration deadline. Payment may be made by mailing a cheque or money order, by phoning (613) 267-9610 with a VISA or Mastercard, or by coming into the Myriad Centre, and paying by Cash, Cheque, Debit or Credit Card, during our posted office hours.
Registrations received after the deadline will be subject to a $25 late registration fee, and will only be accepted if a space remains in the program.
